Last Wednesday night the 10th of April we were out at Paddy Slatterys Museum out in Holycross. We had a great turn out and thanks to members of Carrick Camera Club who joined us on the night and a huge thanks to Paddy Slattery…. Some great photos were got on the night.

Next Wednesday night the 17th of April we have club member Eamon Brennan giving a talk and showing us some of his best work. Eamon is one of the most established and well known photographers in Thurles so it’s sure to be a great night.

Last Wednesday the 3rd of April we had the results of our competition where the theme was ‘Birds, bugs and blooms’.
All the entries were gone through by the 2 judges and their comments, good and bad, were delivered on the night by John O’Loughlin.

This Wednesday night the 10th we will be out at Paddy Slatterys Musuem out in Holycross. A brilliant collection in the museum so it’s sure to have loads of photo opportunities. We are meeting in Lydl car park at quarter to 8 for anyone needing a lift on the night.

Last Wednesday the 27th of March we had guest speaker Seamus Costello with us who was showing us a selection of his Prints. Seamus is a well established international photographer and he showed us different prints of his from sports to landscape and portraits. A great night was had and he was very generous with his time and answered all questions so big thanks to Seamus.

Next Wednesday the 3rd of April we will have the results of our competition where the theme is ‘Birds, bugs and blooms’ and the following Wednesday night the 10th we will be out at Paddy Slatterys Musuem out in Holycross.

Last Wednesday the 20th of March we were at Thurles train station to do some train photography. The weather held up for us and some great shots were taken so thanks to Thurles Train station and Irish rail for accommodating us.

Next Wednesday the 27th of March we have guest speaker Seamus Costello with us who will be showing us his Prints and giving us a talk about portrait photography followed by a Q&A afterwards so it’s sure to be a good night.

If any neighbouring clubs or members of the public want to attend everyone is welcome on the night at 8.30pm upstairs in Hayes Hotel.There will be a 3 euro charge on the night to cover costs, always a great night with Seamus so we’re hoping for a full house on the night.

Entries for our next competition are due in by this Thursday 28th of March by 7pm. The theme is

“Bugs , Birds & Blooms “.

Last Wednesday night the 13th of March we had Club Member Jim Troy giving a practical night.
He went through how to photograph water drops and fun with food dye in water so a great night and thanks Jim.

The Chairperson sent condolences to Paddy Loughnane on the death of his aunt.

This Wednesday the 20th of March we are meeting at Thurles train station for 8pm to do some train photography so bring your cameras and tripods.

We will have Seamus Costello coming to our club on March 27th @ 8.30 so if any neighboring clubs or members of the public want to attend everyone is welcome on the night and we will have 3 euro charge, always a great night with Seamus so we’re hoping for a full house on the night.
